History of Papop – cerebrating 30 years of innovation on wastewater treatment and biogas
Papop Company Limited was established in 1991 by a group of experience Thai engineers who committed themselves to innovation in biotechnology and advanced wastewater treatment. Papop is one of the first company to commercialized UASB process for biogas production in Thailand.
The company has prospered with expertise and over 30 years’ experience. With more than 100 completed projects and numerous prestigious awards domestically and internationally, Papop has been recognized as one of the top biogas technology providers in Thailand and Southeast Asia. The company has registered ISO9001:2015 in 2018.
Papop has expanded its business since its inception to address the domestic growing demands in green and clean energy as well as satisfying clients in various businesses. Papop has established new subsidiaries as follows:

As we navigate through these challenging times, both for our company and the broader economy of Thailand, I want to take a moment to reflect on the current landscape. The recent downturn in GDP and the economic setbacks we face have tested our resilience and adaptability.
However, amid these challenges lies an opportunity for innovation and growth. We are witnessing a pivotal shift toward sustainable practices, with a pressing need to address climate change and reduce carbon emissions. At Papop Company, we believe that biogas production and carbon capture technologies are not just options; they are essential strategies to meet these challenges head-on.
As we forge ahead, our commitment to sustainability and our focus on developing practical, impactful solutions will guide us in overcoming obstacles and contributing positively to our environment and economy.
Together, we can turn these challenges into opportunities for a greener, more sustainable future. Thank you for being part of this journey with us.

Remarks from Dr. Apipong Lamsam
In 2021 Papop celebrates 30th year anniversary. I am delighted to be a part of Papop prosperity for the past 10 years. Since its inception, the company has gone through up and down periods. For instance, the pandemic has affected our work and delivery in 2020 and 2021. However, I believe that we can steer through these difficulties with supports from clients, partners most importantly our dedicated staff as always.
In the next 10 years, I strongly believe that Papop can continue to be leading biogas technology provider in Thailand and also extend to other fields of businesses which include
- Biogas production from energy crop and organic waste
- Solar cells for energy production
- Water reuse and recycling using membrane technology
- Battery
- IT
These future businesses shall benefit the society, staff, management and shareholders as they make the world a better place through decarbonizing and minimizing climate change.
The next wave of digital technology can disrupt the existing technology. Our organization needs to adapt to the new era swiftly. To do this, I hope to strengthening support and encouragement from all staff and management. Our company needs to reposition itself to this 5G era to survive and prosper with dignity and good spirit.
My management philosophy in 5G era is as below.
- Gain value – we continue to turn waste to wealth by delivering the most suitable technology and products to the clients and the society
- Green innovation – we shall develop cutting edge technology to address the society’s problems
- 5G Communication – communicate inside and outside the organization should be fast and effective
- Growth – should be sustainable and benefit all stakeholders
- Good Governance – we strive to work with good ethic and moral.
